Choose a Reputable Paid VPN Service

Use a paid VPN — free VPNs have their IP ranges blacklisted by Google. Recommended: NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Surfshark, or ProtonVPN. Set your VPN server to United States — New York or Los Angeles for best results. UK and Canada servers also work but US has the highest success rate for Google Labs Whisk AI access.

Enable WebRTC Leak Protection

Before opening any browser window, enable WebRTC leak protection in your VPN app settings. Without this, your real IP can leak through the browser even while the VPN is active — causing the "Whisk AI not available" error to persist. This is the most common reason VPNs appear to "not work" for Whisk.
